about me

I’m a non-traditional pastor, writer, and DMin student studying missional leadership at Northern Seminary in Chicago. Together with my family and friends, I’m trying to figure out how to simplify my life, obey Jesus, and go on mission right where I live. Recently some of us realized this is very much a group endeavor, so we started a missional community called “Everyday People” to help each other live out the missio Dei. So far, so good.

I love exploring new territory (my family claims vacations with me are not restful), being outdoors, sipping coffee or wine on our covered porch (especially if a storm is rolling in), and reading stuff that challenges the status quo (thank you Shane Claiborne, John Perkins, Hugh Halter, Brandon & Jen Hatmaker, David Fitch, Alan Roxburgh, and others whose books have wrecked my life).

I am learning as I go, and looking for others who want to join me on this journey. God is doing something huge, but seems to be working through small, missional movements scattered across North America. I’m hoping to see Him connect the dots during my lifetime and help the Church rediscover who He created us to be.
